Blue Ridge Home Care began with one family’s need — and one caregiver’s instinct to step in and do more than expected. A couple in their 80s, living alone, were quietly struggling with everyday life. The husband, a World War II veteran living with polio, and his wife were facing mobility issues, nutritional risks, and the growing difficulty of staying safe and independent. With no formal background in home care, our founder stepped in with compassion and instinct, doing far more than was asked because it was simply the right thing to do. Over eight years of caring for that family, she discovered not only the depth of need in our aging community but a calling to serve others with that same level of dignity and attention. What began as one act of help turned into a growing commitment and eventually, a company built to provide families with the kind of care they deserve. Today, Blue Ridge exists to bring together competent caregivers, supportive leadership, and a standard of care that feels personal — because it is.
